Additional agronomic information
Fruit ripens early relative to other varieties, making it a good choice for interplanting with other varieties to stagger harvest times and avoid the risk of later-season rains. Fruits detach from the plant easily, making this a good choice for machine-harvesting. Yield and rust resistance for this variety were globally evaluated at 23 sites in 15 countries as part of WCR’s International Multilocation Variety Trial. A variety's local performance may vary based on which races of rust are present in the environment.

History
IPR 107 was developed in the southern Brazillian state of Paraná to combine resistance to coffee leaf rust and dwarf size with the wide adaptability and “rusticity” come from it’s parents, Iapar 59 x Mundo Novo. The crossing program to create IPR 107 began in 1982 at the Instituto de Desenvolvimento Rural do Paraná (IDR-PR, formerly IAPAR). At the time of its release in 2010, it exhibited high resistance to coffee leaf rust, which has been further validated in the International Multilocation Variety Trial, a network of global testing sites for coffee varieties. In Brazil, where it is most commonly grown in Parana, it is recommended for semi-dense, dense and super dense planting systems and for machine harvesting.
